Wander the Venetian labyrinth of Piran — its medieval walls, soaring campanile, and Tartini Square are a world apart from anywhere else in Slovenia. The dedicated Parenzana cycling trail runs along a former Austro-Hungarian railway route connecting the coastal towns, offering effortless pedaling with sea views. In the evening, a traditional olive farm dinner and Slovenia's famous wine fountain round out one of the trip's most sensory days.

Watch the legendary white Lipizzaner horses at Europe's oldest stud farm before winding through the dramatic Karst plateau toward the emerald Soča Valley. The valley stretches 90km through Triglav National Park, flanked by rugged limestone peaks and dotted with centuries-old stone villages. Your base for the next four nights at the ranch in Lepena.

One of the great drives in Europe: the legendary Vršič Pass — Slovenia's highest mountain pass at 1,600m, connecting Kranjska Gora in the Sava Valley to Trenta in the Soča Valley via 50 precarious yet adrenalin-inducing hairpin bends (24 on each side). The 24km pass offers breathtaking views over the surrounding mountains and valleys. The drive from the ranch to the top is 45–60 minutes; from the top down to Kranjska Gora approx. 30 minutes. Hikers tackle Šlemenova Špica while non-hikers enjoy a free morning — then everyone meets at the mountain hut at the top for lunch.
