Frequently Asked Questions

✈️ How do I get to the retreat?

+
Fly into Cusco (CUZ). Most international travelers connect through Lima (LIM) before continuing on to Cusco. Our shuttles will pick you up at the Cusco airport and bring you to Samadhi Sacred Valley.

Recommended arrival: Before 3pm on November 20, 2026
Recommended departure: After 12pm on November 25, 2026

Once you have your flights confirmed, please add your arrival and departure details to your Guest Information Form so we can coordinate transportation for everyone. Book your flights soon β€” fares climb quickly closer to the date!

πŸ›‚ Do I need a passport? Any entry requirements?

+
Yes β€” a valid passport is required. Please check your expiration date and ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months after our return date of November 25, 2026, meaning it must be valid through May 25, 2027.

If you need to renew, please do so as soon as possible β€” government passport offices can be slow. Most post offices offer passport renewal services. Reach out if you need guidance on this!

⛰️ What about altitude?

+
The Sacred Valley sits at approximately 9,800 ft β€” meaningfully lower than Cusco itself (11,150 ft), which makes it a great place to acclimatize. Most guests adjust within 24–48 hours.

Tips to ease altitude adjustment:
β€’ Arrive a day or two early in Cusco or Sacred Valley if possible
β€’ Drink plenty of water (more than usual)
β€’ Go easy on caffeine and alcohol the first 24 hours
β€’ Sip coca tea β€” it's freely available on property and locally trusted for centuries
β€’ Take it slow on Day 1 and listen to your body

If you have a history of altitude sickness, talk with your doctor about preventive medication (like Diamox) before you travel.

🧘 Tell me more about the practice with Victoria & Maddie

+
Victoria Grace Hutchins and Madisen Young have curated four signature classes and workshops woven through the week, designed to take you from grounded and steady, to open and free, to deeply integrated:

Heart-Opening Asana β€” slow, intentional asana with Victoria
Steady & Open Balance Workshop β€” stability and awareness with Maddie
Release Your Inhibitions Dance Class β€” all-levels, freeing, joyful with Maddie
The Art of Surrender β€” closing meditation experience with Victoria

All classes are set in world-class, famous yoga shalas with panoramic Andean views. All levels are welcome.

πŸ•οΈ What is the accommodation like?

+
You'll be staying at Samadhi Sacred Valley β€” a stunning eco-retreat property nestled in the heart of Peru's Sacred Valley. The property features ensuite bungalows with sweeping mountain views, world-class yoga shalas, ceremonial fire pits, and a jacuzzi tucked into the landscape.

Room options:
β€’ Triple Room ($3,170 per person)
β€’ Double Room ($3,370 per person)
β€’ Private Room ($3,870 per person)

Solo travelers booking a Double or Triple room will be paired with another guest of the same sex.

🍽️ Can you accommodate dietary requirements?

+
All meals are vegetarian or vegan and prepared by the Samadhi kitchen team. We can accommodate dietary restrictions as long as they are noted on your Guest Information Form.

Please note: if you have a dietary restriction, a special meal will be prepared specifically for you β€” and that is what you will be served. Changes cannot be made on short notice as meals are made to order.

Example: "I don't eat gluten" means our chef will design a gluten-free dish just for you when the rest of the guests receive a different meal. You will not be able to try the regular dish. Thank you for your understanding!

πŸ—“οΈ What is the itinerary?

+
The high-level itinerary is shared on the retreat page β€” arrival ceremony, Samadhi Valley trek, Machu Picchu day, signature workshops, tree-planting and closing ceremonies, and a final integration circle. But day-of activities, departure times, and packing recommendations are shared each evening at dinner so you can stay present.

As a company policy, we don't share a minute-by-minute itinerary in advance β€” and this is done with intention. Our guests are often planning every aspect of their lives and others'. During our AdZENtures, we give you the opportunity to sit back, relax, and enjoy the present moment.

If this sounds unbearable β€” most guests who struggle with this at the start end up loving the element of surprise by the end. Trust the process! πŸ™‚

πŸͺ¨ What can I expect at Machu Picchu?

+
Day 3 of the retreat is dedicated to the Machu Picchu excursion. We'll depart early with our local expert guide, take you through a full guided exploration of the citadel, and give you time for quiet reflection at the Sun Gate.

Machu Picchu sits at approximately 7,970 ft β€” actually lower than the Sacred Valley itself, so altitude is generally not a concern by Day 3. Wear comfortable, broken-in walking shoes, dress in layers (mornings are crisp, midday gets warm), and bring water and sunscreen. The terrain involves stairs and uneven stone β€” sturdy shoes are non-negotiable.

🌳 What is the tree-planting ceremony?

+
On Day 5, each guest plants and names a tree on the Samadhi grounds. It's a quiet, meaningful ritual β€” and it means that long after you leave, something of yours keeps growing in the valley. Many guests come back years later to visit their tree.

It's optional, but most guests find it to be one of the most quietly powerful moments of the week.

πŸ”’ Can I opt out of any activities?

+
Every single experience is optional. AdZENtures chose each experience on this retreat based on firsthand knowledge and the unique value it holds for our guests. You are always welcome to choose your own AdZENture by sitting something out. No pressure, ever.

πŸ›‘οΈ Travel Insurance

+
Medical coverage is required. Travel insurance (which includes trip cancellation protection) is strongly recommended.

We advise all guests to book travel insurance within 7 days of submitting your deposit β€” many policies only cover pre-existing conditions and trip cancellation if purchased within that window. Since deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable, this protects your investment in the event that something comes up and you're unable to join us.

Not sure where to start? Reach out and we can share some suggestions!

πŸ’¬ How do I contact you with questions?

+
We're always just a message away! We are a small, personal operation β€” you'll always be talking directly to us.

πŸ“§ Email: experiences@goadzenture.com
πŸ“± WhatsApp / Text: +1 (406) 690-2605

We typically respond within 24 hours. For urgent matters, call or WhatsApp directly. We genuinely want to hear from you β€” questions, excitement, random thoughts about Machu Picchu β€” all welcome!
