Journay Into the Self
Four nights in a jaw-dropping jungle eco-sanctuary in the Yucatán — rooftop infinity pool, temazcal ceremony, ancient Mayan ruins, sacred cenotes — built around 8 hours of genuinely useful curriculum with one of the best instructors we've ever worked with. Oh, and it's a tax write-off.

Why join us in Mexico?
Dive deep into values-driven living, breaking down conditioned belief systems, and building the kind of healthy boundaries that actually stick — all while tucked away in a one-of-a-kind jungle eco-sanctuary with treehouse-style domes, cenote swims, and ancient Mayan ruins just down the road. Whether you're a mental health professional looking to bring evidence-based frameworks directly into your client work, a healthcare provider wanting sharper tools for navigating burnout and boundaries, or simply someone ready to do a little honest self-examination — this curriculum translates. This is the quality, heart-led content you'd normally find at a large conference under fluorescent lighting — except here, it's delivered in the heart of the Yucatán, with a rooftop pool waiting for you when class lets out.
For nearly a decade, AdZENtures has been creating transformational travel experiences that combine adventure, mindfulness, and meaningful connection. We specialize in bringing together small groups of conscious travelers who want more than just a vacation—they want to learn, grow, and return home changed.
This retreat is designed specifically for professionals who deserve a break from giving, and need space to receive. Four nights in the jungle paradise of Akumal, 8 hours of educational content with an exceptional instructor, and the kind of restorative experience that reminds you why you fell in love with this work in the first place. Let us handle the details while you focus on learning, relaxing, and connecting with your crew.

Fernanda Barceló, MA, LPC, RYT-500, has developed a three-module curriculum designed to be both intellectually rigorous and personally applicable — whether you're a mental health professional, healthcare worker, or simply someone who wants a more grounded and intentional life. Each module is delivered with a mix of lecture, in-class exercises, and group discussion.
📋 Every module includes a take-home packet — worksheets, journal prompts, visualization exercises, and psychoeducation materials — so the learning continues long after you've left the jungle.
Module One
Clarifying your values is the first step in building a life that actually reflects who you are. In this module, you'll use targeted exercises to identify your unique values and what it looks like to embody them in your daily life and relationships. The module also unpacks the difference between value-based and fear-based decisions — and how fear quietly drives choices that move us further from the life we say we want. You'll learn how to work through fear by re-aligning with your values, and why making courageous decisions is an essential part of living with integrity.
Module Two
We all carry conditioned belief systems — shaped by family dynamics, culture, and society — that often run below conscious awareness. This module brings those patterns into view and asks the question: do these beliefs still serve you? You'll learn practical skills to reprogram limiting narratives into something that helps you move forward, create your own personal definition of integrity, and identify the self-imposed barriers that get in the way of reaching it.
Module Three
Boundaries aren't walls — they're how you tend your own garden. This module gets into what healthy limits actually look like, why they're foundational on the path to integrity, and how to start setting them in your own life. Using the Garden Gate metaphor, you'll learn to identify what people, habits, and patterns are helping your growth — and what might be quietly holding you back. You'll also explore what happens when boundaries aren't in place, and how protecting yourself through clear limits with others can be one of the most important forms of self-care you practice.
All participants receive a Certificate of Completion for 8 hours of educational content. Mental health and healthcare professionals are encouraged to check with their state licensing board for CE eligibility. Please note: this course is not currently certified through NASW or ASWB.
A portion of each tuition goes directly to CINDAQ, a local non-profit dedicated to research and conservation of the cenotes and underground rivers of Quintana Roo. You'll receive a tax-deductible receipt for this charitable contribution.
