New England in Autumn
There’s a reason people talk about New England in autumn the way they do.
We’re going to Maine to see it for ourselves — the colour, the coast, and everything in between. Days out on the water and in Acadia. Evenings back at our waterfront house with a fire going and more stars than you’ve seen in a long time.
We’ll pull mussels straight from the farm and learn to shuck them properly. We’ll haul lobster and find out how it actually works. We’ll get out to the islands, take in the lighthouse views Maine is known for, and walk into Acadia National Park when the whole place has gone gold and red and slightly unreasonable.
And Laura is bringing us home. She grew up here, left at 18, and spent the last twelve years building a life guiding in Scotland. Now she’s back — showing you the place she’s from, through the eyes of someone who has spent a career outdoors. There’s something pretty special about that.

Everything on this retreat was chosen on purpose. These three are the heart of it.
Granite coastline, carriage roads, and summits with the whole Atlantic laid out underneath you. Acadia is the one everybody has heard of, and it earns every bit of it. We go in with enough time to actually walk it, rather than drive past the viewpoints with everyone else.
A full day out on the working coast. Out to a mussel farm to pull them fresh and learn to shuck them properly, a lobster haul to see how it genuinely works, island visits, and the lighthouse views Maine put on every postcard. And then we eat it. Obviously.
The reason people plan entire trips around this time of year. The whole place turns gold and red and slightly unreasonable, and we’re there for the peak of it — from the water, from the trails, and from the porch of a waterfront house with a fire going.
WE DO NOT recommend this AdZENture for vegans, or for anyone who doesn’t eat seafood. Two of these three experiences are a lobster haul and a mussel farm, and seafood runs right through the week. It isn’t a side dish here — it’s the point. We’d far rather tell you now.
Two guided hikes, daily yoga on the water, and a waterfront house that’s ours alone for five nights. See the Inclusions tab for the full list.
A $750 deposit secures your spot. A second payment of $1,100 is due April 28, 2027, and your remaining balance is due July 30, 2027. After submitting your deposit, you’ll receive a confirmation email with options to select your preferred payment plan.
Our home for the week is a waterfront house — ours alone for the five nights we’re there. Ten guests, no strangers in the next room, no lobby, no front desk.
There’s space to gather and space to disappear. Morning yoga happens here. So does the fire in the evening, the last glass of wine of the night, and the conversation that goes longer than anyone planned.
The whole house, just our group of ten. No sharing it with other guests.
Waterfront, with the coast at the end of the garden and the light doing something different every hour.
A fire going, the stars out, and nowhere in particular to be. This is the part people remember.

Outdoor Guide | Owner, Paddle Sports Company (Scotland)
Originally from Maine, Laura left home at 18 for what was meant to be a gap year. That quickly turned into an adventure, travelling through Asia and Australia before eventually finding her way to Scotland.
Almost 12 years later, Scotland is home. Laura fell in love with the outdoors and built a career in guiding. Today, she owns an outdoor paddle sports company in Scotland, where she gets to spend her time on the water and share her love of Scotland and its wild landscapes with people from all over the world.
Now she’s excited to head back to where it all began and return to her roots in Maine. Having spent years showing people what makes Scotland so special, she can’t wait to share the same passion for Maine — a place she believes has the whole package: incredible scenery, brilliant people, amazing food and, of course, plenty of adventure.
For Laura, there’s something pretty special about coming full circle and getting to show people the place she grew up in through the eyes of an outdoor guide.
