A Montana AdZENture

A little ZEN in the Wild West.

There is a thing that happens to people the first time they stand in Montana and look up.

They go quiet. Because the sky here really is bigger — not as a slogan, as a fact of geography — and there is nothing in the way of it. No buildings, no haze, no next town over. Just blue mountains at the edge of everything and an enormous amount of nothing in between.

This is authentic cowboy country. Wide open spaces, the great Yellowstone River running through them, and towns where the main street still looks the way it did a hundred years ago.

We spend our nights in a log cabin and our days out in it — hiking, on the river, and watching for the animals that make this place what it is. Grizzlies, elk and bison, and not from a viewing platform.

Eight of us at most. That is deliberate: a small group moves quietly, gets closer to the wildlife, and fits around one table at the end of the day.

And this one is personal. Montana is Lindsey’s home — the country she grew up in — and this is the retreat she has been most excited to hand over to guests.

Come and see what people mean by big sky.

Three Signature Experiences

Everything on this retreat was chosen on purpose. These three are the heart of it.

🏔 Big Sky, and the Room to Use It

Blue mountains, open country and a sky with genuinely nothing in the way of it. We hike it, drive through it, and stand in the middle of it — and the scale takes most people a day or two to adjust to.

🦮 Grizzlies, Elk & Bison

This is one of the last places in the lower 48 where the full cast is still out there. Bison on the road, elk in the meadows at dusk, and grizzly country treated with the respect it deserves. A group of eight moves quietly enough to actually see it.

🤠 Authentic Cowboy Country

The great Yellowstone River, main streets that never got modernised, and the working west rather than the souvenir version. This is Lindsey’s home ground, and she knows which of it is real.

🌈 Plus a day in Yellowstone National Park

Hot springs, the river canyon, and the first national park in the world — with someone who knows when to go and where not to stand. See the Inclusions tab for everything.

Nights in a Log Cabin

Our home for the week is a log cabin lodge in Big Sky country — timber, a stone fireplace, and a creek outside. Ours alone for the five nights we’re there. Eight guests, no strangers in the next room, no lobby, no front desk.

It is the kind of place where everyone ends up in the same room at the end of the day without anyone organising it.

A Real Log Cabin

Timber beams, a stone fireplace and a creek outside — not a hotel doing a theme.

Exclusively Ours

The whole lodge, just our group of eight. No sharing it with other guests.

Out the Door and Into It

Trails, the river and the wide open start where the porch ends.

Lindsey has been leading transformational retreats since 2017, guiding guests through conscious travel experiences around the world. Montana is where she grew up, and this retreat is the one she has been most excited to share — her own country, at the pace she thinks it deserves.

🧙 Local guides who live here

The hikes, the river days and the wildlife watching are run by people who work this country year-round. They know where the elk are at dusk, how close is too close to a bison, and which trail is worth the early start.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fly into Bozeman (BZN). Airport transfers are included both ways — send us your flight details on the guest form.

Bozeman connects through most major US hubs, and it is the standard gateway for this part of Montana.
We collect the group at Bozeman at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 1. Land before then — earlier is completely fine, later is a problem.

On departure day, Monday September 6, the transfer reaches the airport at 12:00 PM. Do not book a departing flight before 1:30 PM.

Got a flight that conflicts? Email us and we’ll help you sort out a solution!
No — every room on this retreat is shared, and there is no supplement to pay. One price, $2,960 per person.

Four rooms, two guests in each. Two have a king bed and are held for couples travelling together; two have two beds and are for guests sharing with a roommate.
Always. Plenty of guests come solo and leave with friends. With eight of us there’s nowhere to hide and no reason to.

We’ll match you with a roommate in one of the two-bed rooms, or you can name a preferred roommate when you book.
Moderately active. Guided hikes on mountain trails, time on the river, and a fair amount of walking on the Yellowstone day.

You should be comfortable walking several miles over uneven ground. Everything is paced to the group and every activity is optional.

Worth knowing: Big Sky sits high, and the first day or two at altitude takes some people by surprise. Drink more water than feels necessary.
Bison, almost certainly. Elk, very likely, especially around dusk. Grizzlies are wild animals and nobody can promise you one — but this is genuinely their country and we are in it at the right time of year.

We carry bear spray, we keep our distance, and we follow the guides on this without debate. Getting the photograph is never worth the risk to you or the animal.
Early September is one of the best windows here — warm bright days, cool nights, and the summer crowds gone.

Expect a real swing between midday and midnight, and remember that at elevation it is colder and windier than the valley. Snow in early September is unusual but not impossible. We’ll send a full packing guide once you’re booked.
Throughout this AdZENture, we’re excited to immerse you in the vibrant flavors of our local cuisine, thoughtfully curated based on seasonal and traditional foods.

Please note that we strive to accommodate various dietary needs and restrictions by offering a variety of options for each meal. If you have specific dietary requirements, we’ll do our best to make adjustments within the framework of our offerings. Our goal is to introduce you to the rich tapestry of local flavors, and we believe that includes a diverse range of culinary experiences.

If guests require custom meals beyond our standard offerings or last minute changes during the retreat, there may be an additional fee, similar to an upcharge at a restaurant. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to providing you with a delicious and culturally enriching experience.
This is a no smoking retreat — if you wish to smoke, you will not be permitted to do so on our retreat premises.

Limited alcohol is provided. You’re welcome to purchase more if you’d like. If you have any concerns about this aspect of your retreat, please reach out to your hosts and we will respond with the utmost discretion.

The full Code of Conduct, alcohol and smoking policies are on your confirmation page once you’ve booked.
$750 non-refundable deposit at booking, $1,105 on April 1, 2027, and your remaining $1,105 on July 3, 2027.

750 + 1,105 + 1,105 = $2,960. Payment plans are available; you’ll get options in your confirmation email.
We strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance. Some people are already covered through their standard health care, but travel insurance is useful for other areas of the trip too — Trip Protection in particular.

It helps protect against unforeseen emergencies, which can happen at any time, and against the rest of it as well: travel delay, lost or stolen baggage and personal items, missed connections, and plenty more.

One provider we recommend is IMGlobal, because it’s designed for adventurous travellers — overseas medical, evacuation, baggage, and a range of adventure sports and activities. It’s what we use ourselves. We don’t receive a commission — we just think it’s good.
