A little ZEN in the Wild West.
A little ZEN in the Wild West.
There is a thing that happens to people the first time they stand in Montana and look up.
They go quiet. Because the sky here really is bigger — not as a slogan, as a fact of geography — and there is nothing in the way of it. No buildings, no haze, no next town over. Just blue mountains at the edge of everything and an enormous amount of nothing in between.
This is authentic cowboy country. Wide open spaces, the great Yellowstone River running through them, and towns where the main street still looks the way it did a hundred years ago.
We spend our nights in a log cabin and our days out in it — hiking, on the river, and watching for the animals that make this place what it is. Grizzlies, elk and bison, and not from a viewing platform.
Eight of us at most. That is deliberate: a small group moves quietly, gets closer to the wildlife, and fits around one table at the end of the day.
And this one is personal. Montana is Lindsey’s home — the country she grew up in — and this is the retreat she has been most excited to hand over to guests.
Come and see what people mean by big sky.

Everything on this retreat was chosen on purpose. These three are the heart of it.
Blue mountains, open country and a sky with genuinely nothing in the way of it. We hike it, drive through it, and stand in the middle of it — and the scale takes most people a day or two to adjust to.
This is one of the last places in the lower 48 where the full cast is still out there. Bison on the road, elk in the meadows at dusk, and grizzly country treated with the respect it deserves. A group of eight moves quietly enough to actually see it.
The great Yellowstone River, main streets that never got modernised, and the working west rather than the souvenir version. This is Lindsey’s home ground, and she knows which of it is real.
Hot springs, the river canyon, and the first national park in the world — with someone who knows when to go and where not to stand. See the Inclusions tab for everything.

Our home for the week is a log cabin lodge in Big Sky country — timber, a stone fireplace, and a creek outside. Ours alone for the five nights we’re there. Eight guests, no strangers in the next room, no lobby, no front desk.
It is the kind of place where everyone ends up in the same room at the end of the day without anyone organising it.
Timber beams, a stone fireplace and a creek outside — not a hotel doing a theme.
The whole lodge, just our group of eight. No sharing it with other guests.
Trails, the river and the wide open start where the porch ends.

Lindsey has been leading transformational retreats since 2017, guiding guests through conscious travel experiences around the world. Montana is where she grew up, and this retreat is the one she has been most excited to share — her own country, at the pace she thinks it deserves.
The hikes, the river days and the wildlife watching are run by people who work this country year-round. They know where the elk are at dusk, how close is too close to a bison, and which trail is worth the early start.
