Frequently Asked Questions

✈️ How do I get to the retreat?

+
Fly into CancΓΊn International Airport (CUN). Airport transfers to and from our eco-sanctuary in Akumal are included β€” it's approximately 1.5 hours south of the airport along the Riviera Maya.

Once you have your flights confirmed, please add your arrival and departure details to your Guest Information Form so we can coordinate transportation for everyone. Book your flights soon β€” January is peak season and fares are climbing!

πŸ›‚ Do I need a passport? Any entry requirements?

+
Yes β€” a valid passport is required. Please check your expiration date and ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months after our return date of January 23, 2027, meaning it must be valid through July 23, 2027.

If you need to renew, please do so as soon as possible β€” government passport offices can be slow. Most post offices offer passport renewal services. Reach out if you need guidance on this!

πŸŒ• Tell me more about the programming with Dr. Meghan

+
Dr. Meghan Davidson β€” Licensed Psychologist, Daring Way™ Trained Facilitator, and founder of Love Warrior Healing β€” has woven this retreat around daily women’s circles, movement, and sacred ceremony. Expect intention setting and grounding, journaling and teaching, and space to process what each experience brings up.

Three signature experiences anchor the journey: a Temazcal ceremony, a full-day pilgrimage to Ixchel’s temple on Cozumel, and a sunrise sound bath on the Caribbean β€” all beneath the full moon.

πŸ•οΈ What is the accommodation like?

+
You'll be staying at Ekumal β€” a stunning jungle eco-sanctuary set deep in the Akumal jungle featuring Super Adobe and Geodesic Domes designed in harmony with the natural environment. The property includes chemical-free swimming pools, a rooftop infinity pool, a Temazcal sweat lodge, multi-level yoga tower, hammocks throughout, and a community kitchen.

Room options:
β€’ Shared room ($3,350 per person)
β€’ Private room ($3,750 per person)

Solo travelers in shared rooms will be paired with another solo guest β€” and you can note a preferred roommate when you book.

🍽️ Can you accommodate dietary requirements?

+
All meals are included and prepared by local chefs. We can accommodate dietary restrictions as long as they are noted on your Guest Information Form.

Please note: if you have a dietary restriction, a special meal will be prepared specifically for you β€” and that is what you will be served. Changes cannot be made on short notice as meals are made to order.

Example: "I don't eat gluten" means our chef will design a gluten-free dish just for you when the rest of the guests receive a different meal. You will not be able to try the regular dish. Thank you for your understanding!

πŸ—“οΈ What is the itinerary?

+
The day-by-day rhythm of the retreat lives on the retreat page β€” morning yoga, women’s circles, the Temazcal, the Cozumel pilgrimage, and the sunrise sound bath.

The finer details β€” timing, what to wear, when we depart β€” will be shared each evening at dinner for the following day. This keeps you prepared without pulling you out of the present moment. Trust the process! πŸ™‚

🌊 What is a Temazcal ceremony?

+
A Temazcal is an ancient Mayan sweat lodge ceremony used for physical, mental, and spiritual purification. It involves sitting in a small dome-shaped structure while heated volcanic rocks create intense steam. A guide leads prayers and intentions throughout the ceremony, connecting participants to ancient Mayan traditions of healing and renewal.

It is a profound and powerful experience. Participation is completely optional if you prefer not to take part.

🏊 What are cenotes?

+
Cenotes are natural sinkholes or cave pools formed by the collapse of limestone bedrock, revealing an underground freshwater river system beneath the YucatΓ‘n Peninsula. The Maya considered them sacred gateways to the underworld and used them for rituals and as primary water sources.

A cenote adventure is available as an optional add-on for this retreat β€” individually or for the full group. Reach out for pricing and details. The water is crystal clear, refreshing, and unlike anything you’ve likely swum in before.

πŸ”’ Can I opt out of any activities?

+
Every single experience is optional. AdZENtures chose each experience on this retreat based on firsthand knowledge and the unique value it holds for our guests. You are always welcome to choose your own AdZENture by sitting something out. No pressure, ever.

πŸ›‘οΈ Travel Insurance

+
Medical coverage is required. Travel insurance (which includes trip cancellation protection) is strongly recommended.

We advise all guests to book travel insurance within 7 days of submitting your deposit β€” many policies only cover pre-existing conditions and trip cancellation if purchased within that window. This protects your investment in the event that something comes up and you're unable to join us.

Not sure where to start? Reach out and we can share some suggestions!

πŸ’¬ How do I contact you with questions?

+
We're always just a message away! We are a small, personal operation β€” you'll always be talking directly to us.

πŸ“§ Email: experiences@goadzenture.com
πŸ“± WhatsApp / Text: +1 (512) 649-0755

We typically respond within 24 hours. For urgent matters, call or WhatsApp directly. We genuinely want to hear from you β€” questions, excitement, random thoughts about cenotes β€” all welcome!
