Four nights in a stunning eco-sanctuary in the heart of the YucatΓ‘n, 8 hours of transformative curriculum with Fernanda BarcelΓ³, MA, LPC, sacred Mayan ceremonies, underground cenote swims, and the kind of crew that turns strangers into lifelong friends. Over the next several months leading up to your AdZENture, you'll receive pertinent information via email β but everything can also be found right here. βοΈ How do I get to the retreat?

Fly into CancΓΊn International Airport (CUN). Airport transfers to and from our eco-sanctuary in Akumal are included β it's approximately 1.5 hours south of the airport along the Riviera Maya.
Once you have your flights confirmed, please add your arrival and departure details to your Guest Information Form so we can coordinate transportation for everyone. Book your flights soon β January is peak season and fares are climbing!

π Do I need a passport? Any entry requirements?

Yes β a valid passport is required. Please check your expiration date and ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months after our return date of January 18, 2027, meaning it must be valid through July 18, 2027.

Fernanda BarcelΓ³, MA, LPC, RYT-500 has developed a three-module, 8-hour curriculum that is both intellectually rigorous and personally applicable:
Module 1 β "What Am I Embodying?" Values-driven living vs. fear-based decision making
Module 2 β "Unmasking & Aligning" Breaking down conditioned belief systems
Module 3 β "The Garden Gate" Healthy boundaries, integrity, and self-trust
Every session includes take-home worksheets, journal prompts, and psychoeducation materials. All participants receive a Certificate of Completion for 8 hours of professional development. Mental health and healthcare professionals are encouraged to check with their state licensing board for CE eligibility.

You'll be staying at Ekumal β a stunning jungle eco-sanctuary set deep in the Akumal jungle featuring Super Adobe and Geodesic Domes designed in harmony with the natural environment. The property includes chemical-free swimming pools, a rooftop infinity pool, a Temazcal sweat lodge, multi-level yoga tower, hammocks throughout, and a community kitchen.

All meals are included and prepared by local chefs. We can accommodate dietary restrictions as long as they are noted on your Guest Information Form.
Please note: if you have a dietary restriction, a special meal will be prepared specifically for you β and that is what you will be served. Changes cannot be made on short notice as meals are made to order.
Example: "I don't eat gluten" means our chef will design a gluten-free dish just for you when the rest of the guests receive a different meal. You will not be able to try the regular dish. Thank you for your understanding!

As a company policy, we do not share an itinerary with our guests in advance β and this is done with intention. Our guests are often planning every aspect of their lives and others'. During our AdZENtures, we give you the opportunity to sit back, relax, and enjoy the present moment.
Every evening at dinner, we'll disclose the following day's activities, what to pack, what to wear, and when we depart. This keeps you prepared without pulling you out of the present.

π What is a Temazcal ceremony?
+
A Temazcal is an ancient Mayan sweat lodge ceremony used for physical, mental, and spiritual purification. It involves sitting in a small dome-shaped structure while heated volcanic rocks create intense steam. A guide leads prayers and intentions throughout the ceremony, connecting participants to ancient Mayan traditions of healing and renewal.
It is a profound and powerful experience. Participation is completely optional if you prefer not to take part.

π What are cenotes?

Cenotes are natural sinkholes or cave pools formed by the collapse of limestone bedrock, revealing an underground freshwater river system beneath the YucatΓ‘n Peninsula. The Maya considered them sacred gateways to the underworld and used them for rituals and as primary water sources.
We will swim at the underground cenote at Zazil Tunich β a breathtaking cave cenote experience. The water is crystal clear, refreshing, and unlike anything you've likely swum in before. Don't miss it!

Every single experience β except the educational sessions β is optional. AdZENtures chose each experience on this retreat based on firsthand knowledge and the unique value it holds for our guests. You are always welcome to choose your own AdZENture by sitting something out. No pressure, ever.

Medical coverage is required. Travel insurance (which includes trip cancellation protection) is strongly recommended.
We advise all guests to book travel insurance within 7 days of submitting your deposit β many policies only cover pre-existing conditions and trip cancellation if purchased within that window. This protects your investment in the event that something comes up and you're unable to join us.
