You are officially coming to Hawaiʻi with us, and we could not be more excited. Five nights above the Puna coastline, eight of us, and an island that is genuinely still being built. Volcanoes. Mauna Kea after dark. Waterfalls, black sand, Kona coffee, and Mav cooking for us. Between now and February you’ll get everything you need by email — but it all lives right here too. Before You Fly

✈️ Getting Here

You can fly into either side of the island — Kona (KOA) on the west or Hilo (ITO) on the east. Both are covered.

Airport transportation is included both ways. Send us your flight details on the guest form and we’ll be there.

🕑 Pickup & Dropoff

Arrival, Sat Feb 27: Kona Village 2:00 PM · Kona Airport 2:30 PM · Hilo Airport 4:00 PM.

Departure, Thu Mar 4: Hilo Airport 10:00 AM · Kona Airport 11:30 AM.

Book your flight home at least 90 minutes after your dropoff — nothing before 11:30 AM from Hilo, nothing before 1:00 PM from Kona.

Email us if you have a conflicting flight and we’ll help you sort out a solution!

🛖 Which Airport?

Hilo (ITO) is much closer to the house and the later pickup. Kona (KOA) usually has more flights and better fares from the mainland.

Either works. Pick on price and timing, then tell us which on your guest form.

📅 Your Dates

Arrive Saturday, February 27 and depart Thursday, March 4, 2027. Five nights.

Coming a long way? Consider flying in a day early. The first day is more fun when you’ve slept.

🌡️ Weather & What to Pack

Three climates in one trip. Warm and humid on the coast, cooler and wet at the volcano and in the jungle, and genuinely cold on Mauna Kea after dark. That last one catches people out every time.

The full packing guide is linked below.

💰 Money & Tipping

Hawaiʻi is in the US, so US dollars and cards everywhere. Bring some cash for personal purchases and gratuities for local guides.

Tips for your hosts and guides are not included and always appreciated.

Get Excited! A Glimpse of Your AdZENture

Extend Your AdZENture — Pre & Post-Stay Ideas

You’re already flying to the middle of the Pacific — you might as well see more than one island. Both of these are a short hop away, and both are completely different from the Big Island.

🏄 Oʻahu

Mav’s home island — and the North Shore in full winter swell.

Airport
HNL
Getting There
~50 min hop
Stay
2–3 nights
  • Late February is peak North Shore — the waves people fly across the world to watch
  • Honolulu and Waikīkī if you want a city and a beach in the same afternoon
  • Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial
  • The Windward coast, Kailua and Lanikai — the postcard beaches
  • The easiest interisland connection from either Kona or Hilo
  • Ask Mav for recommendations. He grew up here.

🌴 Kauaʻi

The oldest, greenest and slowest island in the chain.

Airport

Getting There
Via HNL
Stay
3–4 nights
  • The Nāpali Coast — by boat, by helicopter, or on foot if you’re committed
  • Waimea Canyon, which earns the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific” line
  • Hanalei Bay and the whole north shore
  • The wettest place in the islands — bring a rain layer and stop fighting it
  • The right choice if you want to decompress rather than sightsee
  • Best as a post-retreat wind-down before the long flight home

Good to Know

A few things about how we run an AdZENture. None of it is meant to be heavy — it just makes for a better week when everyone knows where they stand. Tap any card to open it.

This AdZENture is carefully designed and planned specifically for your group. Our hosts are experts in the destination and have personally curated this retreat to include the very best experiences we could find and create. We ask that you be respectful to our local partners and follow their instructions, especially during our adventures.

Please be mindful of the other guests in our small groups. Be respectful of every person, their opinions and their choices on the retreat.

Unruly, disrespectful, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated on this AdZENture, our hosts reserve the right to stop your participation in this retreat and no refund will be provided if this occurs. Additional costs may be incurred for transportation and/or alternative accommodation and AdZENtures will not be responsible for any additional expenses.

By attending this retreat you agree to this.

Please note that limited alcohol is provided on this AdZENture. If you would like to purchase additional alcohol for the accommodations, feel free to do so. If you have any concerns regarding this aspect of your retreat, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your hosts and we will respond with the utmost discretion.

If you choose to consume alcohol on this trip, please do responsibly and note that others might not want to partake. Please be respectful of the others in the group and their personal choices.

Please note that this is a no smoking retreat. If you wish to smoke, you will not be permitted to do so on our retreat premises.

Throughout this AdZENture, we’re excited to immerse you in the vibrant flavors of our local cuisine, thoughtfully curated based on seasonal and traditional foods.

Please note that we strive to accommodate various dietary needs and restrictions by offering a variety of options for each meal. If you have specific dietary requirements, we’ll do our best to make adjustments within the framework of our offerings. Our goal is to introduce you to the rich tapestry of local flavors, and we believe that includes a diverse range of culinary experiences.

If guests require custom meals beyond our standard offerings or last minute changes during the retreat, there may be an additional fee, similar to an upcharge at a restaurant. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to providing you with a delicious and culturally enriching experience.

We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance. Some people may be covered through their standard health care, but travel insurance can be helpful for other areas of the trip such as Trip Protection. Travel insurance helps protect against unforeseen emergencies which can occur at any time. It also helps protect you against other circumstances like travel delay, lost or stolen baggage and personal items, missed connections and so much more.

One of the recommended travel insurance providers is IMGlobal, because it is designed for adventurous travelers with cover for overseas medical, evacuation, baggage and a range of adventure sports and activities. It’s what we use ourselves — we don’t receive a commission, we just think it’s good.

Questions

As soon as you can, and no later than 60 days before we travel. It carries your dietary needs, emergency contact and flight details — we plan the airport pickup from it, and with two airports in play we really do need it.
Tell us early and we’ll work something out. Scheduled pickups are Kona Village 2:00 PM, Kona Airport 2:30 PM and Hilo Airport 4:00 PM — but we would rather know in advance than have you sitting in an airport wondering.
Cold enough that a fleece is not enough. You are at high elevation, after dark, exposed, having spent the day in shorts at sea level. Bring a proper winter coat, a hat and gloves. Every year somebody thinks we are exaggerating. We are not exaggerating.
Yes. Email experiences@goadzenture.com and we’ll set up a schedule that works for you, as long as the balance clears by December 28, 2026.
Your $750 deposit is non-refundable. This is exactly what travel insurance is for — it covers cancellations for reasons none of us plan on.
Not even slightly. Plenty of guests come solo and leave with friends. With eight of us there’s nowhere to hide and no reason to.
Email experiences@goadzenture.com any time. No question is too small, and somebody else is almost certainly wondering the same thing.
