🪨 What to Pack — Tela, Honduras, April 2027

Here’s the good news about packing for this one: it is hot, it is humid, and you will spend most of the week either in the water or about to be.

That makes it simple. Swimwear, quick-dry clothes, sun protection, and the specific handful of things that make diving comfortable rather than merely possible.

Pack light. You will wear about a third of what you bring.

Expected Weather

Late April on the Caribbean coast of Honduras is warm, humid and green. Water temperatures are comfortable enough that most people dive in a shorty or a 3mm at most.

🌞 On land

Hot & humid

Shorts and t-shirt weather from breakfast to bed. Humidity means things dry slowly — pack more than one of anything you care about.

🌊 In the water

Warm

Comfortable for repeat dives. A shorty or 3mm wetsuit is plenty; rental gear is available through Tela Marine.

🌿 In the mangroves

Humid & buggy

Two nights inside a national park on the water. Long sleeves and repellent earn their place here more than anywhere else.

🌧️ Rain is possible and usually brief. Tropical showers blow through and then it is bright again. A packable rain layer is enough — you do not need serious waterproofs.

Diving

Tela Marine provides all the equipment — tanks, BCD, regulator, weights, wetsuit. You do not need to bring gear. But there are a few things worth having as your own.

Your own mask, if you have oneThe single item most worth owning. A mask that fits your face beats any rental
Dive computer, if you have oneOptional — rentals are available. Useful if you’re tracking the 18-hour no-fly window yourself
Rash guard or dive skinSun protection on the boat, and a layer under a wetsuit
Reef-safer sunscreen for boat daysYou will be topside between dives with no shade
Seasickness remedy, if you’re prone to itTake it before you board, not when you start feeling it
Dry bag for the boatPhone, towel, dry layer. Everything on a dive boat gets wet

⚠️ Not certified? You still don’t need to bring anything. Discovery dives and snorkelling use the same provided kit. Bring your own mask if you have one and you’re set.

Clothing

Everything on this trip is casual. There is no dinner you need to dress up for, and nobody is checking.

🔌 Plugs: Honduras uses the same 110V Type A/B plugs as the US, so no adapter needed if you’re coming from North America. From the UK or Europe, bring one.

Arrival & Departure — Book Around These

Transfers are included both ways from San Pedro Sula (SAP). There is one shuttle each way, so the whole group travels together. Send your flight details on the guest form as soon as you have them.

🚌 Arrival day

Pickup 2:30 PM

We collect the group at SAP at 2:30 PM local time. Land before then — earlier is completely fine, later means you miss the shuttle.

✈️ Departure day

Dropoff 11:30 AM

The shuttle reaches SAP at 11:30 AM.

⏰ Your flight home

1:00 PM or later

Do not book a departing flight before 1:00 PM. Anything earlier needs a private transfer at your own cost. Email us if yours conflicts and we’ll help you sort out a solution!

💬 Check the times against your flights before you buy the tickets. Changing a flight is easy in March and expensive in April.
