From the sea to the Soča River.
This is a week where you get wet on purpose, twice over. A snowmelt river that makes you shout, then an Adriatic that is genuinely warm — with alpine hikes in between where the wind at the top has other ideas about the temperature.
Mid-June in the Julian Alps is generous. Warm valley days, cool nights, and water that stays properly cold no matter how hot the afternoon gets, because it comes off the mountains.
Pack for two climates, one very cold river and one warm sea. Layers, things that dry fast, and one outfit for a coastal dinner.
Early summer in the mountains. Long daylight, warm afternoons, and a genuine drop once the sun goes behind a ridge.
Shorts-and-t-shirt weather most afternoons. Comfortable for walking, swimming and sitting outside for hours.
Every bit of elevation takes the temperature down and the wind up. A summit in a wet t-shirt is a cold summit.
The Soča is snowmelt-fed and stays bracing all summer. That is exactly why it’s that colour. The Adriatic later in the week is the opposite — warm enough to stay in.
These describe typical mid-June conditions in the Julian Alps, not a forecast — check closer to travel. Any given week can run warmer, cooler or wetter.
If you forget everything else, don’t forget these.
Active days, relaxed evenings, and one very good dinner outdoors under the stars.
All paddleboarding equipment is provided. This is what comes from you — and it earns its space twice, once in the valley and once at the sea.
Three pairs covers the whole week.
Alpine sun is stronger than it feels, and water throws it straight back up at you. People burn on this retreat while feeling perfectly cool.
Airport transfers are included both ways from Ljubljana Airport (LJU). Please send your flight details on the guest form as soon as you have them.
We collect the group at Ljubljana Airport at 3:00 PM local time. Land before then — earlier is completely fine, later is a problem.
The transfer reaches the airport at 11:30 AM.
Do not book a departing flight before 12:30 PM. Check this before you buy the ticket, not after.
Slovenia is small and very well connected, so adding a few days is easy. Nothing much changes in your bag — a couple of things help.
Email experiences@goadzenture.com — no question is too small, and somebody else is almost certainly wondering the same thing.
